He has since worked and lived in a number of places, including Sweden, the United States, and Hungary. He is author of four books, a co-edited volume, and a number of articles addressing various aspects of European security and defence with an emphasis on transatlantic relations. His publications in the St Antony's series also include US Defence Bases in the United Kingdom: A Matter for Joint Decision? (1987) and The New European Security Disorder (1994). He currently lives in Maastricht, The Netherlands.
