He has published nine wilderness advocacy books, includingFrog Mountain Blues, The Sonoran Desert, Stone Canyons of the Colorado Plateau, andDesert: The Mojave and Death Valley. He also authored and photographedLarge Format Nature Photography, a guide to color landscape photography.
