Denise Leograndis is a fulltime elementary teacher for the Santa Clara Unified School District in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is also a professional developer for her district and the Franklin-Mckinley School District where she and her colleagues plan and lead summer writing institutes. Additionally, she serves as a guest lecturer for pre-service and masters literacy classes at San Jose State University.
Denise lives in Sunnyvale with her husband of 26 years and their teenage son, one dog and a rabbit. She loves snowshoeing in the Sierra Mountains and scuba diving anytime, anywhere. But mostly, she loves to teach.
