In this study the author focuses on trade and markets in New Kingdom, Egypt. It examines both administrative and visual sources, focusing in particular on the evidence from Deir el Medina, and looks at the place of the merchant, the circulation of goods, the exchange of land and ideas of property, and the slave trade.
