To meet the food requirement of growing population, rapid strides were made in Indian agriculture. Several developmental programmes were launched by government for its steady and stable growth. But in all these programmes, only a part of the farming community was covered effectively, the left out were continuously been untouched. In order to achieve sustainable development in agriculture, there is a need to concentrate on this un-reached group. Based on factors responsible for un-reachedness and the personal, socio-psychological characteristics of un-reached farmers, an appropriate extension strategy was designed to reach the un-reached farmers. The strategy was divided in to five broad areas Viz., Education as the primary concern followed by Reoriented extension activities, Economic concern, Technological concern and Socio-psychological concern. An appropriate and feasible model was designed to reach the un-reached farmers. This strategy will help the administrators, plicy makers and other personnel who are working in the field of agricultural extension in executing the extension programmes towards the objective of sustainable agriculture.
