Joseph Enuenwemba Obi hails from Oleh, Delta State of Nigeria. He attended Government College Ughelli, and took a Bachelors degree in sociology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from Brandeis University, Waltham Massachusetts, USA. He co-authored (with Tanure Ojaide) Culture, Politics, and Society in African Literature, published by Carolina Academic Press. His short stories have been broadcast on Deutsche Welle and published in The New Black Magazine and Speaking For the Generations: An Anthology of Contemporary African Short Stories edited by Dike Okoro. Dr. Obi has taught sociology at universities in the USA and Nigeria, the most recent being the University of Richmond, Virginia where he holds emeritus status.
