This book examines morphogenetic processes based on a combination of digital and analogue modeling and manufacturing techniques. These modules can in many cases be translated into architectural designs. They show an exciting new avenues in educational motivation, using a systematic architectural approach as well as an understanding of complex geometries.
The studies shown in this book have been produced in the academic context of the technische univesit?t Darmstadt. The produced output proves not only to be an exciting new way in educational motivation and systematic architectural approach, but also serves as an important step of introducing (future) architects into the understanding and handling of complex geometries and novel CAD / CAM technologies.
Asterios Agkathidis studied architecture in Thessaloniki and completed postgraduate studies in Advanced Architectural Design in Frankfurt. He became a partner in the architectural practice b&k+ in Cologne until 2004, then at VMX architects, Amsterdam, until 2005. He founded the research laboratory a3lab and teaches at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he is currently working on his PhD.
An exciting method of educational motivation, systematic architectural approach, and understanding of complex geometries.
