An overview of membrane trafficking pathways has been provided in this all-inclusive book. Membrane traffic is a wide domain that deals with complex exchange of membranes that occurs inside a cell. Protein, lipids and other molecules travel among intracellular organelles, are delivered to or transferred from the cell surface by virtue of membranous carriers known as transport intermediates . These carriers have distinct shapes and sizes; and their biogenesis, mode of transport and delivery to the final destination are monitored by a multitude of very intricate molecular mechanisms. The concept that every membrane pathway does not represent a close system, but is fully integrated with all the other trafficking pathways has emerged in past few years. This book intends to present a general overview of the degree of this crosstalk.
