Sustainable forest management (SFM) is an old concept. But its popularity has grown in the last few decades due to the public concern regarding the significant decline in forest resources. The implementation of SFM is usually achieved with the help of criteria and indicators (C&I). A number of countries have developed their own sets of C&Is. The book covers some of the current researches carried out to test the recent indicators, to look for new indicators and to establish new tools. It contains original research studies on socio-economic functions and decision making tools. These studies exhibit the recent researches done to provide forest managers with effective tools for choosing between distinct management strategies of improving indicators of SFM.
