The interactions of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities through the centuries have often been hostile and sometimes violent. Today a new 'trialogue' between them is developing in several parts of the world. One of the most ambitious ventures so far of this kind took place recently in California and produced this set of exploratory papers and responses. The subjects are the concepts of God in the three traditions, their attitudes to the material world, and their understandings of human life and history. The discussions were frank and realistic but at the same time hopeful.Acknowledgements - Notes on the Contributors - Introduction; E.S.Meltzer - 'This Is My God': One Jew's Faith; E.N.Dorff - A Christian Response; J.A.Sanders - A Muslim Response; I.Hamdani - On the Christian Doctrine of God; J.Verheyden - A Jewish Response; D.Ellenson - A Muslim Response; A.Kharofa - God: A Muslim View; M.H.Siddiqi - A Jewish Response; S.Heschel - A Christian Response; M.Frank Meskill - The Earth and Humanity: A Muslim View; J.Badawi - A Christian Response; C.W.Ernst - A Jewish Response; P.S.Karlin-Neumann - The Earth and Humanity: A Christian View; J.B.Cobb,Jr - A Jewish Response; B.Beliak - The Land of Israel: Sanctified Matter of Mythic Space; C.Seidler-Feller - A Christian Response; H.Singh - A Muslim Response; I.K.Poonawala - Essence of Judaism; D.Ellenson - Heart of the Christian Faith for Me; J.A.Sanders - Islam: A Brief Look; J.Badawi - Trinity and Incarnation in the Light of Religious Pluralism; J.Hick - Response; M.H.Siddiqi - Three Faiths and Some Common Problems; J.Hutchison - Conclusion: Three Reflectons - Appendix; R.Knierim - Index
