Lisa grew up in New York City and was a typical city kid. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1980 with a BFA in illustration.

Lisa has always wanted to do children's books and is particularly proud of the Silly Thrillers with Peggy the Pig that she has done with Dutton.

Lisa now lives in New York's Hudson Valley with her husband, daughter, dog and two cats.
